Jane Elizabeth Bingham Abbott (* 19 March 1851 in Charlotte, Vermont, United States; † 20 February 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, United States), was an American singer, pianist and composer.

Life

Jane Abbott was the daughter of Reverend Joel Smith Bingham (1815-1894) and Jane Robbins (1815-1898). Her grandfather was General Rufus Putnam.

Around 1870 she lived with her parents in Boston.

On 25 March 1879 she married Charles Fuller Abbott (1847-1900) in Dubuque. Her sons Samuel Bingham Abbott (1881-1893) and Julian Fuller Abbott (1887-1893) died of diphtheria in April 1893. Other children were the doctor Donald Putnam Abbott (1884-1936) and the university librarian Ruth Abbott (1880-1933).

She later lived with her family in Chicago.
