Birgit Gasser (* before 1966) is a German film editor, musician and composer.

Life

After graduating from high school, Birgit Gasser was employed as an assistant editor at Deutsche Industrie- und Dokumentarfilm GmbH in Düsseldorf from 1984. She has been working as a freelance editor since 1987. She works particularly frequently with directors Thomas Roth, Bettina Woernle and Sigi Rothemund.

At the same time, Gasser also works as a musician and composer of electronic music, sometimes under the stage name Dino Oon. In 1989, together with Detlef Funder (stage name: Konrad Kraft), she founded a music label for electronic and experimental music: SDV Tonträger. In addition to local and international artists, the label also released Oon/Kraft’s own works.

After the end of her involvement with SDV Tonträger, Gasser moved to Berlin in 1994, where she composed the radio play music for Paul Auster’s Stadt aus Glas, which was published by WDR/BR in 1997.
