Eva Holm Foosnæs (* 26 November 1983) is a Norwegian composer, conductor and pianist.

Life

Eva Holm Foosnæs grew up in Steinkjer in Trøndelag and has had countless commissions and engagements as a conductor, répétiteur, accompanist and pianist since 2009. She has also been a full-time freelance composer since 2018. She is now based in Trondheim.

Her compositional output includes mainly vocal music, music theatre and opera, but also larger instrumental orchestral works. Foosnæs has formal training as a composer through the Norwegian Technical University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia and the Robert Schumann Hochschule für Musik.

Among the grants she has received, RWE Dea / Norwegian Research Council, Nord-Trøndelag Art Grant, Trøndelag County Municipality, Tono are worth mentioning and she won the ASAWCA Allmänna Sången & Anders Wall International Composition Award 2019 and the Ortus 4th New Music Competition 2020 (Manhattan New York).
