Tatjana Prelevicaus modern

Tatjana Prelevic (* 1966 in Titograd (now Podgorica) in Montenegro) is a Yugoslavian-Montenegrin-German composer.

Life

Tatjana Prelevic was born in 1966 in Titograd (now Podgorica) in Montenegro. She studied piano and composition at the Titograd Conservatory with Konstantin Bogino and Vojin Komadina. She passed her concert exam at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with Prof. Bernd Goetzke.

She won numerous prizes at international piano and piano duo competitions and received an award for the exhibition “Where is Minerva”.

Since 1997 Tatjana Prelevic has been a lecturer in chamber music/new music at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Since 2003 she has also taught at the Summer Courses for Chamber Music in Bardou (France). Furthermore, she is involved in the promotion of New Music in Hanover as well as in her home country Montenegro. In 2010, for example, she conceived the project “Briefe aus der Heimat” (Letters from Home) in cooperation with the Hannoversche Gesellschaft für Neue Musik (Hanover Society for New Music), which aimed to present music, art and literature from the former Yugoslavia, followed in 2012 by “Briefe in die Heimat” (Letters to Home). In 2011 she founded the ensemble “ur.werk”, which is mainly dedicated to performances of music theatre.

Since 2012 she has been a lecturer at the University of Hildesheim, Department of World Music. Tatjana Prelevic’s compositional oeuvre includes works for solo, chamber and orchestral ensembles, vocal music and music theatre works.
