Marianne Stollaus modern

Marianne Stoll (* 1 August 1911 in Stuttgard; † 28 January 2012 in Tübingen) was a German organist and composer.

Life

Marianne Stoll was born in Stuttgart on 1 August 1911. She studied music with piano as her main subject at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart.
After her final examination in 1934, she studied church music in Stuttgart and Leipzig. After the war she worked in Lustnau and Stuttgart and for the last eight years as organist at the Jakobuskirche in Tübingen. She taught piano, flute and chamber music at the local youth music school.
After her retirement, she founded a senior citizens’ orchestra in Tübingen in order, as she said, to give older people the opportunity to make music together. She died on 28 January 2012 in Tübingen.
