Huqin

The huqin is a family of string instruments used in Chinese music. It consists of a round, hexagonal or octagonal resonating body to which a long bridge is attached. The instruments in this family have two strings, with the exception of the sihu, which has four strings tuned in pairs. The bodies are usually covered with snakeskin or laminated wood. They have two tuning pegs, one for each string. On most of them, the bow can be passed between the strings.
