Eydís Evensenaus modern

Eydís Evensen (* 1990er) is an Icelandic pianist and composer.

Life

Evensen hails from the northern Icelandic town of Blönduós, from a home where both Led Zeppelin and Tchaikovsky were played. She began piano lessons when she was six and composed her first piece when she was seven. At 13, she made her own CD of six piano pieces. Evensen attended Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð where she sang in the choir led by Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir and originally planned to study classical music in Vienna, but dropped out. Instead, she travelled for several years, working as a model in London and New York.

Evensen’s debut album Bylur (Icelandic for snowstorm) was released on XXIM Records under Sony in April 2021.
