Justė Janulytėaus modern

Justė Janulytė (* 1982 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian composer.

Life

Justė Janulytė studied piano, choral conducting, music theory and composition at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with Bronius Kutavičius and Osvaldas Balakauskas and at the Giuseppe Verdi Milan Conservatory with Alessandro Solbiati. Her multimedia work Sandglasses brought her great success: after its premiere in Lithuania in 2010, it was performed at major European new music festivals, including Warsaw Autumn and MaerzMusik Festival.

Janulytė has collaborated with internationally renowned ensembles, including the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenic, the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio, the Brno Philharmonic, the Sinfonietta Riga, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, the BIT20 Ensemble and the Danish Radio Chamber Orchestra. Janulytė teaches at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and lives in Vilnius and Milan.
