Pille Kanguraus modern

Pille Kangur (* 31 May 1966 Otepää; † 11 August 2013) was an Estonian composer.

Life

Pille Kangur studied piano at the Children’s Music School in Elva from 1977 to 1979 and at the Children’s Music School in Jõgeva from 1979 to 1984; she graduated from Jõgeva Grammar School in 1984.
From 1984 to 1989 she studied choral conducting (with Vaike Uibopuu) and music theory (with Anne Juzar) at the music school in Tartu named after Heino Eller. In 2004, she graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music with a Bachelor’s degree (in the class of Raimo Kangro and Helena Tulve). In 2006 she began a master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (in the class of Helena Tulve and Toivo Tulevi).

She has mainly composed chamber music, electronic music and multimedia works.
