Pille Kanguraus modern

Pille Kangur (* 31. Mai 1966 Otepää; † 11. August 2013) war eine estnische Komponistin.

Leben

Pille Kangur studierte von 1977 bis 1979 Klavier an der Kindermusikschule in Elva und von 1979 bis 1984 an der Kindermusikschule in Jõgeva; 1984 machte sie ihren Abschluss am Gymnasium in Jõgeva.
Von 1984 bis 1989 studierte sie Chorleitung (bei Vaike Uibopuu) und Musiktheorie (bei Anne Juzar) an der nach Heino Eller benannten Musikschule in Tartu. Im Jahr 2004 schloss sie ihr Studium an der Estnischen Musikakademie mit einem Bachelor ab (in der Klasse von Raimo Kangro und Helena Tulve). 2006 begann sie ein Masterstudium an der Estnischen Musik- und Theaterakademie (in der Klasse von Helena Tulve und Toivo Tulevi).

Sie komponierte vor allem Kammermusik, elektronische Musik und multimediale Werke.

Life

Pille Kangur studied piano at the Children’s Music School in Elva from 1977 to 1979 and at the Children’s Music School in Jõgeva from 1979 to 1984; she graduated from Jõgeva Grammar School in 1984.
From 1984 to 1989 she studied choral conducting (with Vaike Uibopuu) and music theory (with Anne Juzar) at the music school in Tartu named after Heino Eller. In 2004, she graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music with a Bachelor’s degree (in the class of Raimo Kangro and Helena Tulve). In 2006 she began a master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (in the class of Helena Tulve and Toivo Tulevi).

She has mainly composed chamber music, electronic music and multimedia works.
